This co-extrusion WPC fencing board in Dark Coffee delivers the warm, rich appearance of natural timber with none of the maintenance. No painting, no treating, no rot. Just a durable, weatherproof board that holds its colour and shape through every UK season.

What is Co-Extrusion WPC?

Standard first-generation WPC is a simple blend of wood fibre and plastic. Co-extrusion (2nd generation) adds a protective polymer shell that is fused around the composite core during manufacturing. This outer layer dramatically improves UV resistance, colour fastness, scratch resistance, and long-term weather performance compared to uncapped alternatives — making it the superior choice for UK outdoor use.

Where to Use

Garden privacy fencing, patio boundary screens, pool surrounds, driveway borders, and commercial outdoor enclosures. The Dark Coffee finish pairs well with natural garden planting, composite decking, and warm-toned outdoor furniture.

Installation Guide

Tools Required
Tape measure, pencil, hand saw or circular saw, drill, spirit level, rubber mallet.

Step 1 – Plan Your Layout
Measure the total length of your fencing run. Calculate the number of boards needed based on the effective width of 151.6mm per board. Order all boards in a single batch to ensure colour consistency.

Step 2 – Install Posts and Rails
Set your fence posts at no more than 1800mm apart. Secure posts in concrete and allow to fully cure before proceeding. Fix the bottom rail first, then the top rail, ensuring both are level.

Step 3 – Insert the First Board
Slide the first board into the bottom rail channel. Use a spirit level to check it is vertical before proceeding.

Step 4 – Add Remaining Boards
Slot each subsequent board into the groove of the previous one using the tongue and groove system. Press firmly together — use a rubber mallet and offcut block if needed to avoid surface damage. Do not force boards; they should connect cleanly.

Step 5 – Fit the Top Rail
Once all boards are in place, secure the top rail to lock the boards in position.

Step 6 – Finishing
Check the full run is level and plumb. Trim any boards to width using a circular saw if required at end posts.

Important Notes

  • Allow a 5mm expansion gap at each end of the board run to account for temperature movement.
  • Do not install boards in direct contact with soil — maintain a minimum 50mm clearance from ground level.
  • Boards may lighten slightly in the first 6 months of UV exposure before settling at their permanent tone. This is normal for WPC products.
