Soft-Touch Vertical Ripple Cream Feature Wall — Bedroom
Project: Soft-Touch Vertical Ripple Feature Wall | Room: Bedroom | Difficulty: Easy | Time: 2–3 hours | Panel: Vertical Ripple Cream PU Wall Panel 1200×600mm, Pack of 2
Most wall panels are rigid — you fix them, they stay flat, and that's that. The Vertical Ripple Cream PU Wall Panel is completely different. At just 3mm thick, it's genuinely flexible — it bends, curves, and follows any wall surface without cracking or creasing. That opens up possibilities that rigid panels simply can't touch: curved walls, bay windows, alcoves, arches, and column wraps all become effortless.
Pair that flexibility with a soft cream colour and a gentle vertical ripple texture that catches light like fabric, and you have a bedroom wall that feels as good as it looks. Literally — run your hand across it and it gives slightly underfoot, warm and tactile in a way no other panel type can replicate.
Why Flexibility Changes Everything
Wraps Curved Walls
Bay windows, alcoves, arched recesses — this panel bends to follow any surface that rigid panels can't handle
No Gaps on Uneven Walls
Slight wall undulations that would leave gaps behind a rigid panel are absorbed — the sheet follows the contour perfectly
Cut with Scissors
No saws, no dust, no mess. At 3mm thick, cut to any shape with a sharp pair of scissors or a craft knife
Wraps Columns & Pillars
Wrap structural columns, posts, or rounded pillars with a single continuous strip — impossible with any rigid panel
Soft & Warm to the Touch
The PU surface has a slight give — warm, tactile, and genuinely soft. Nothing like cold hard tile or board
Lightweight & Easy to Handle
Roll it, fold it, carry it under one arm. Effortless to transport, position and apply solo

How Many Packs Do You Need?
| Area to Cover | Packs Needed | Panel Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Headboard section (~1.8m wide × 2.4m tall) | 4 packs | £192 |
| Standard feature wall (~4m × 2.5m = 10 m²) | 7 packs | £336 |
| Curved alcove or bay window (~3 m²) | 3 packs | £144 |
| Column wrap (standard bedroom column) | 1–2 packs | £48–£96 |
💡 Always add 10% extra for cuts and joins. On curved walls, add 15% as the panel needs slight overlaps when navigating tighter curves.

Step-by-Step Installation
Prepare the Surface
Clean the wall with a damp cloth and allow to dry fully. Because this panel is flexible, it will follow the contours of whatever surface it's applied to — which is a feature on curved walls, but means any loose paint, dust, or grease will reduce adhesion. For best results, lightly sand any glossy painted surfaces to give the adhesive something to grip.
Plan Your Layout — Vertical Orientation
These panels are designed to be installed vertically so the ripple lines run floor to ceiling, creating a visual elongation effect that makes the wall — and the room — feel taller. Mark a vertical centre line on the wall with a pencil and spirit level. Work outwards from the centre so any join lines fall symmetrically on each side.
Cut to Size — Scissors or Craft Knife
This is where the flexibility pays off. Measure your wall height and cut panels to length with sharp scissors — no saw, no dust, no noise. For curved sections, cut the panel slightly oversize first, offer it up to the wall, mark the curve with a pencil, then trim to fit. The panel bends to your pencil line naturally. For awkward shapes around coving, skirting, or architraves, a craft knife gives more precision.
Apply Adhesive
Apply adhesive in a grid pattern across the full back of each panel — not just zigzag lines. Because the panel is thin and flexible, full-coverage adhesive ensures no areas bow away from the wall after fixing. On curved walls, apply slightly more adhesive at the bending points to help the panel hold the curve as it sets.
Press and Smooth
Press the panel onto the wall starting from the top and working downwards — like applying a large sticker. Use a flat-edged tool (a credit card or wallpaper smoother works perfectly) to push outward from the centre, removing any air pockets. On curved walls, work section by section, pressing the panel into the curve as you go. Hold for 60 seconds at each press point.
Align Ripple Lines Across Panels
The key to a seamless finish is aligning the vertical ripple pattern at the join between adjacent panels. Before applying the second panel, hold it up next to the first and check the ripple lines match up. The panels are designed so butting them edge-to-edge creates a continuous ripple pattern — but take a moment to confirm alignment before the adhesive grabs.
Support While Adhesive Cures
On flat walls, the adhesive will hold the panel immediately. On curved walls, use a few strips of painter's tape to hold the panel in place while the adhesive cures — especially at the top and bottom edges. Leave for 24 hours before removing the tape. The adhesive cures completely flexible, so the panel retains its curve permanently.
💡 Pro tip — Use the flexibility on a curved headboard recess: If your bedroom has a recessed alcove behind the bed, this panel is ideal — it bends into the internal corners of the recess without needing corner trims or cuts. Run a single continuous strip from one side of the alcove, around the back wall, and out the other side. The seamless ripple pattern flowing around the curve is a genuinely stunning effect that would be impossible with any rigid panel.
Styling the Cream Ripple Wall
The cream colour is versatile by design. It reads as warm and soft — much more inviting than bright white — and works with almost any palette. Here are the combinations that look best:
Warm neutrals: Pair with sandy beige bedding, natural linen curtains, and warm oak furniture. The cream ripple wall becomes an organic, textured backdrop that adds depth without competing with anything else in the room.
Soft contrast: For more visual interest, pair with sage green or dusty rose accessories — throw cushions, a bedside lamp shade, or a low footstool. The cream ground lets the accent colour do the talking.
Warm brass or gold accents: Brass table lamps, gold picture frames, or a gold-toned mirror on the ripple wall all catch the light that plays across the ripple texture. The combination of warm cream and warm metal is consistently one of the most elegant bedroom pairings.
Lighting matters: The ripple texture only truly shows with directional or angled light. A bedside lamp that casts light upward onto the wall, or recessed spots angled at 30–45 degrees, will reveal the full depth of the wave pattern. Flat overhead lighting washes the texture out.
✨ Try It on Your Bay Window or Alcove First
Not sure about committing to a full feature wall? Start with a curved section — bay window returns, a bedroom alcove, or a chimney breast. The flexibility of these panels makes curved sections trivially easy, and a well-panelled alcove or bay window can be just as impactful as a full feature wall at a fraction of the cost. Order 2–3 packs and see how it looks.
