Luxury Marble Full Wall — Living Room

Project: Luxury Marble Full Wall Room: Living Room Difficulty: Medium Time: 4–6 hours Wall: 4m × 2.5m (10 m²)

Nothing says luxury quite like floor-to-ceiling marble — but real marble slabs cost thousands and require specialist installation. High gloss SPC marble panels give you that same mirror-like marble finish at a fraction of the price, and you can install them yourself in a day.

These are large-format panels (2440mm × 1220mm) that create a seamless, reflective surface with realistic golden marble veining flowing continuously across the wall. One pack of 3 panels covers 8.93 m² — just 2 packs cover your full wall with room to spare.

What You'll Need

Each pack of 3 SPC panels covers 8.93 m², so just 2 packs cover your entire 10 m² wall with room for cuts. The panels are only 4mm thick, making them surprisingly lightweight for their size — but at 2.44m × 1.22m you will need a second pair of hands to handle them safely.

Step-by-Step Installation

1

Prepare the Surface

The wall must be clean, dry, and as flat as possible. Because these panels are high-gloss, any bumps behind them can cause visible waviness in the reflective surface. Sand down any high spots and fill any dips with filler. Allow filler to dry completely and sand flush.

2

Plan the Panel Layout

Lay both packs on the floor side by side and check how the marble veining flows across the panels. Arrange them for maximum pattern continuity before marking which panel goes where. Each panel is 1220mm wide — plan where the vertical joins will fall and aim to position them where they'll be least visible.

3

Cut to Size

Use a fine-tooth saw or circular saw with a guide rail for clean, straight cuts. Cut from the back of the panel to prevent chipping the glossy face. SPC panels cut cleanly but take your time — a rough edge will be visible on these high-gloss surfaces.

4

Apply Adhesive Generously

Apply adhesive in a full grid pattern across the entire back of each panel — not just zigzag lines. These panels are larger so you need full coverage to prevent any flex or bowing. Have your helper ready before applying adhesive as you'll need to position the panel quickly.

5

Fix Panels in Place

With your helper, lift the panel into position and press firmly across the entire surface using a clean cloth — never press the gloss face with bare hands. Check alignment with a spirit level. Support the panel with temporary props or tape while the adhesive sets for at least 2 hours.

6

Seal the Joints

Where two panels meet, apply a thin bead of Britwall Clear Silicone Sealant along the join. Smooth with a damp finger immediately. This prevents moisture getting behind the panels and gives a clean, seamless finish on the high-gloss surface.

💡 Pro tip: Keep the protective film on the panel face during installation. Only peel it off once all panels are fitted and the adhesive is fully set. This prevents fingerprints, scratches, and adhesive smudges on the glossy surface during handling.

Tips for the Best Result

Lighting makes the difference. High-gloss marble panels are reflective — they'll pick up and bounce any light source in the room. Position recessed downlights or wall washers to highlight the marble veining. The golden veins are particularly dramatic under warm light.

Keep it clean. Fingerprints show on high-gloss surfaces. Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or rough cloths that could scratch the surface.

Perfect for alcoves too. If a full wall feels too bold, these panels look incredible in a fireplace alcove or behind a console table — one pack is enough for a smaller feature section.
